This is an article written by Robin Pogrebin for the New York Times. It will be something of interest to watch and see what type of following or offers Johnson’s sketches will gain. Some feel he was too far into the aesthetics of modernism rather than its true idea, while others hail Johnson.
For whatever reasons I always find myself extremely interested in the thought process of Karim Rashid. I became familiear with his work in 1999 and I have become a faithful spectator to his world in design.

Recently, Lionakis was asked to join a team of local upstart designers and developers for the Sacramento Arena proposal. The idea presented to Lionakis was one of creating vibrancy and life within the heart of Downtown Sacramento. To accomplish this dream, financing will need to be figured out and Westfield will somehow have to join the discussions as well.

Please join us for the 4th Wednesday Design Dialogue! This month’s topic is Integrating Climate + Form: A Valley City in Paradise.
How do designers’ and builders’ responses to climate become elements of architectural form and style? Sacramento architect and green builder Matt Piner will discuss examples from local, global, and historical perspectives on certain architectural forms that are so prominent as to have their own name originated as building responses to the peculiarities of local climates.
